Weather Events
Weather events guide for Be The Final Boss Update 1. Gold Rush 1.75× kill Coins, Shard Storm 1.3× shard drops, Cursed Moon 2× mutation chance, 15-minute cycle, and strategy tips.
Update 1 Weather System
Update 1 added a global weather rotation that modifies rewards without changing hero wave difficulty. Three weather events — Gold Rush, Shard Storm, and Cursed Moon — cycle automatically on a fixed schedule. A timer in the bottom-right corner of the screen shows which event is active and how much time remains in the current phase.
Weather is separate from the Event menu (party icon, top-right), which handles the spin wheel, daily login, and subscriptions. See the events page for wheel and login details. Weather affects what you earn while defending the castle — plan spending around the cycle documented below.
Cycle Timing
Each weather event lasts five minutes. A ten-minute gap follows before the next event starts. One full rotation — active event plus gap — takes fifteen minutes. Watch the bottom-right timer rather than guessing; stacking boosters and code rewards during the wrong phase wastes limited resources.
- Active window: 5 minutes per event
- Gap between events: 10 minutes
- Full cycle: 15 minutes (5 active + 10 gap)
- Timer location: Bottom-right of the screen
Gold Rush — 1.75× Kill Coins
Gold Rush applies a 1.75× Coin multiplier to Coins earned from hero kills while active. It does not multiply passive wave-clear lump sums unless those payouts also tie to kills — prioritize active combat during the five-minute window. Personal weapon cleanup and dense minion lanes both increase kill volume and therefore Coin income.
Time Coin-heavy purchases during Gold Rush when possible: skill tree nodes, weapon breakpoints, and population investments. Pair with unstoppableboss (Coin Booster plus 5,000 Coins) and bigbossman code rewards for large mid-run skill spikes. Gold Rush does not replace wave survival — extra Coins help only if heroes still die before reaching your castle.
Shard Storm — 1.3× Shard Drops
Shard Storm raises Fusion Shard drop chance by 1.3× and grants one extra shard drop attempt per eligible roll while active. Farm this window when the cauldron on the fusion page needs materials and codes like bigthroneking or bossman3000 are exhausted.
Combine Shard Storm with Spin Tickets from cantkilldaboss or finalboss4life for parallel wheel rolls that may also drop Shards. Play actively during the five-minute window — AFK sessions miss kill-linked and roll-linked shard opportunities. See currencies for how Shards fit alongside Coins and Souls.
Cursed Moon — 2× Mutation Chance
Cursed Moon doubles your total summon mutation chance for five minutes. It does not increase castle risk or hero damage — the name refers to cursed mutation variants, not a danger modifier. Roll minions during Cursed Moon when you have Souls to spend and your formation already clears the next wave checkpoint.
Stack Cursed Moon with Summon Luck skill nodes, Luck Boosters from bossman3000, and Soul Boosters from cantkilldaboss for the strongest mutation farming window in Early Access. Read the mutations wiki for Shiny, Cursed, and Demonic lines and stat ceilings near ~150% on top rolls.
Strategy by Playstyle
Early-game players should prioritize Gold Rush for defensive skill nodes that stabilize castle health, then Shard Storm once fusion unlocks meaningful gear. Mid-game players align Soul hoarding with upcoming Cursed Moon timers instead of rolling blindly between events.
Advanced players track the 15-minute cycle like a soft schedule: push one wave deeper during Gold Rush for kill income, fuse during Shard Storm gaps if inventory is full, and batch summons exclusively under Cursed Moon plus boosters. The Event menu spin wheel documented on events fills downtime during ten-minute gaps without conflicting with weather bonuses.
